Bethany College Celebrates the Reinstatement of Psi Chi Chapter

Bethany, W.Va. — Bethany College proudly announces the reinstatement of its Psi Chi chapter, the International Honor Society in Psychology. Psi Chi, founded in 1929, boasts a mission to encourage excellence in scholarship and promote the professional development of its members. With over 750,000 lifetime members, including renowned figures such as Drs. Albert Bandura, B. F. Skinner, and Phillip Zimbardo, Psi Chi has established itself as a prestigious society in the field of psychology. 

The Psi Chi chapter at Bethany College proudly inducted seven new members who met the membership criteria. To be eligible for membership, individuals must major or minor in psychology, be a second-year student or beyond, and maintain a minimum GPA of 3.3. Once admitted, members become part of a global network of lifelong learners dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in psychology. 

The newly elected officers for the reinstated Psi Chi chapter at Bethany College are: 

President: Aubrey Davis ‘25 

Vice President: Emma Richmond ‘26 

Secretary: Kyla Kull ‘25 

Treasurer: Jordan Haslacker ‘26 

“It is such an honor to bring back our Psi Chi chapter to Bethany College,” says Dr. Felicia Kademian-Saini chapter advisor and psychology professor. “Psi Chi has a rich history with Bethany, as many of our members have conducted and presented their research in various conferences, had grant opportunities, as well as many other opportunities to further the field of psychology. Our mission is to recognize and promote excellence in the science and application of psychology, and it is fantastic to have our chapter back at Bethany with so many talented scholars.” 

Psi Chi offers a range of benefits to its members, including international recognition for academic excellence, access to psychology-related publications, and more than $400,000 in annual awards and grants. The society is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies and is affiliated with the American Psychological Association (APA) and the Association for Psychological Science (APS).
